Dominus, a leading real estate investor, developer and asset manager with a hospitality division and based in London, England, UK has received approval from Camden Council to develop a 240 - bed hotel in London.
The British group submitted plans in September 2025 to convert an existing telephone exchange into a hotel, and Camden Council has now granted planning approval.
The future hotel will be located at 123 Judd Street near the bustling Euston Road and Argyle Street, in Camden, a multi - cultural area of London, known its vibrant, alternative culture, famous markets (Camden Lock, Stables Market), diverse street food, eclectic shops (vintage, crafts, unique goods), energetic live music scene, street art, a dynamic nightlife, a hub for self - expression, now evolved into a an alternative scene offering a mix of historical charm and modern creative energy for tourists and locals.
The very convenient location allows strolling or taking a boat trip along Regent’s Canal which offers a tranquil escape connecting to Little Venice and nearby green spaces, admiring iconic landmarks like the Ami Winehouse statue, offering an easy access to London Zoo in Regent’s Park or enjoying famous venues like the Roundhouse and Jazz Café that host emerging and established artists, complemented by numerous trendy pubs and bars.
Designed by firm Stiff + Trevillion, a London - based architectural practice founded in 1981, the adaptive reuse project is targeting BREEAM Excellent sustainability standards and 80% of the building’s framework will be retained.
The hotel’s ground floor will be opened up to include a restaurant, and café and bar open to both hotel, guests and the public, and a newly landscaped courtyard will also create a connection between the building and the surrounding public area.
Once operational, the hotel will br managed by Dominus Hospitality and create over 100 jobs. Dominus will launch the Camden Hospitality Academy on - site, in partnership with The Springboard Charity and supported by Hilton to offer training, work placements, and employment opportunities for local residents.
Principal Director of Dominus, Jay Ahluwalia said that the hotel project is a fantastic opportunity to revitalise an underused building just minutes from King’s Cross at a time when visitor demand in London continues to grow. Drawing on the company’s track record on sensitively repurposing buildings across the capital, Dominus will transform the existing telephone exchange into a high - quality hotel. In addition, through a partnership with Springboard, the Camden Hospitality Academy will create new skills, training and employment for local young people.
