Hard Rock International, one of the most globally recognized companies with venues in 248 locations spanning several countries across the world that include owned, licensed or managed Hotels, Casinos, Rock Shops®, Cafes, and Hard Rock Live concert halls, based in Orlando, Florida, U.S., announced the opening of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa in Gloucester, a populous suburb east of the Canadian capital on 3rd July 2025.
The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa opening is part of a broader expansion by the group in key locations and it marks its fully integrated resort in Canada in the the National Capital Region, Ottawa, city in the East Ontario, sitting art the confluence of the Ottawa and Rideau Rivers near the U.S. border and the city of Montreal, famous for its grand Victorian architecture and prominent museums such as the National Gallery of Canada.
The construction of the new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa is nearing completion. In the interim, the existing Rideau Carleton Casino continues to operate on the site. Post opening renovations will commence on the original building with an expected full completion by the end of 2025, this will expand the gaming areas and dining facilities.
The hotel is located at 4837 Albion Road in Gloucester, a former municipality and now geographic area of the National Capital Region, located east of of Ottawa's inner core, a short distance from Rideau Road and Johnston Corners.
The property will feature 150 comfortable rooms, including 22 luxury suites offering a comprehensive entertainment and gaming experience over 150.000 square feet including 1.500 slot machines, up to 40 table games, and a high limit area.
Additionally the hotel will house a Hard Rock Live Entertainment space with a capacity of 2.200, which will host Canadian entertainers during the ground opening week. The lineup for this event will be announced closer to the opening date.
Dining options will be relevant with 10 restaurants and bars, including the well-known Hard Rock Café and the Council Oak Steaks & Seafood.
Tbe project is anticipated to create about 700 jobs and aims to significantly contribute to the local community and it will also engage in community initiatives through partnerships with non-profit organizations and local sponsorships.
