Colombia | 2025, A Great Year for the Tourism Industry with Protagonists its Country's Appeal and Attractiveness

 

Colombia, country of South America, well known for its rich culture, biodiversity,a  nation bathed by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean boasting virgin beaches, bustling cities with a stunning colonial architecture,varied landscapes highlighted by the imposing peaks of the Andes mountain range, vast rainforests, coffee fields surrounding suggestive villages, after an exceptional 2024 is living a special momentum with a 2025 started as a great year with protagonists its country's appeal and attractiveness.

Confirming all that air booking for the first half of 2025 reach a 9.2% growth ,when compared the same period in 2024, and suggest that the positive path that was being seen last year, when an annual increase of 8.5% was reached and could be maintained or surpassed this year.

This is undoubtedly a very significant signal that shows the high interest of the international travellers in this Latin American country that year by year is becoming a top destination. 

Notable is the notable growth of reserve from Argentina, Chile and Ecuador for the first half of 2025, and also this special momentum is highlighted by the enormous interest for Medellin and Bogotá as favourite destination, the former with a 30% and the Colombian capital with a 55% share of total bookings, a detail which confirms the excellent work done concerning air connectivity and the relevant promotion of these two vibrant cities in the international markets that are showing all their appeal and attractiveness.

The Executive President of ANATO, non – profit organization of a professional nature that represent, defends and promotes the general interests of tourism and travel agencies, Paula Cortés Calle said that there is an important point that has to be highlighted in these results and is that 76% of the reservations have pleasure as a reason for travel, and in addition, that 55% correspond to direct flights between the city of origin and destination, which apart from showing the good moment that holiday tourism is going through in Colombia ratifies that the strengthening that international air connectivity has been reporting has generated greater competitiveness in the market and a very important incentives for travellers to choose Colombia before other destinations.

With optimism, the expectation is very positive about the travel trend for this year, estimating a significant rebound for the sector and with the support of connectivity, it will be possible to have an important growth, development and visibility of traditional, appealing destinations, but also of those less popular but with a tourist vocation that can showcase their unique attractiveness.
