The country is a very emergent destination in Southeast Asia that received more than 20 million visitors last year, with an increase of 27.9 % of travellers compared to 2023 and having notable expectations for 2025.

Popular destinations include the historic city of Malacca,in the Melaka Tengah District, the oldest centre on the Strait with the same name, included by UNESCO among the World Heritage Sites in 2008, the beautiful Langkawi Geopark, idyllic UNESCO site located in the northern State of Kedah, highlighted by impressive rock formations surrounded by a vast jungle with caves with stalactites and stalagmites, winding mangrove reveries, wildlife and waterfalls , the suggestive eastern coast of Terrenganu boasting pristine and unique landscapes beaches and the other Word Heritage Sites of Sabah and Sarawak.

All these places of Malaysia offer a stunning mix of dramatic landscapes, adventures and experiences to enjoy day by day, a captivating culture highlighted by a delicious gastronomy, local art, artesany and traditions.

As for its tourism development strategy as part of the National Tourism Policy 2020 - 2030, Malaysia prioritizes responsible tourism, economic revitalization and digitalization through strategic collaboration. focusing on training seminars and familiarisation trips that continue to be relevant key initiatives to improve product awareness among travel agents.

Malaysia is furthermore a very distinguished destination by its many cultural events that attract thousands of tourists every year, one of them is Thaipusam, held in late January or early February, considered one of the most impactful festivities, where several devotes perform intense rituals to commeratate the epic victory of Murugan over the evil spirit Soorapadman.
