Thus, in 2024 the Russian Federation has renewed the historical record of tourist trips to Cuba, accounting 185.800 arrivals, being one of the main source markets arriving in the largest island of the Greater Antilles and data were 1% higher than those of 2023 and 5% above those of 2019.
Despite that the figure has fallen short of the forecast made by the Cuban government, which projected some 200.000 Russian tourists in 2024.
The Minister of Tourism of the Cuban embassy in Moskow, Cristina León Iznaga, confirmed these data, while the Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos Garcia Granda, pointed out that the forecast for the coming years is to increase the flow of Russian tourism, until it reaches half million travellers per year.
