The Minister started talks with Iran for the establishment of a tourist route, with the aim of improving cross - border travel activities enhancing its tourist offer and enlarging its options to travellers who want to explore new attractive destinations.
In local media the Minister of Culture and Tourism, emphasized Pakistan's strategic vision of gaining land access to Turkey and Europe through Iran, commenting that the atmosphere of terror in Karachi, the capital of the province of Sindh and the largest city in the country is over and significant investment are being made in the tourism sector.
In addition, the Minister confirmed that Pakistan has signed a cultural agreement with Iran at the Prime Minister's House, declaring that a new era of development has begun in the country and Pakistan offers some of the best opportunities in the region.
In addition in relation to heritage conservation, the Minister acknowledged the importance of preserving Karachi's ancient buildings, which he called the beauty of the city, and directly linked to that a specialized committee has been formed to oversee the protection and restoration of these historic sites.
