London, the trendy British capital boasting endless attractions, will add over 600 new rooms in the luxury hotel segment after 550 rooms in 2023, over 300 in the current year and as many to be added next year.
This is a real invasion in this hospitality segment, but the largest centre in the United Kingdom seems to be holding up to this very significant increase that began after the period linked to the pandemic with prestigious brands constantly ready to take over new properties or carrying out major renovations in the English metropolis.
Whitebridge Hospitality, specialist advisor for investors, developers and operators in the hospitality industry around the globe, commented that the survey finds a certain weakening of rates compared to the same period in 2023 and it is deduced that the luxury segment in London is in excellent health.
Accomplice of this great exploit in the luxury hotel sector was undoubtedly also the city policy that allowed the recovery of old buildings.
As important notes, in the first half of 2024 they opened in London the Mandarin Oriental Mayfair with 55 rooms, the Emery with 60 rooms and this year it will be the advent of the Park Hyatt River Thames with its 203 rooms.
Alongside all this, there are many other projects that involve the reuse of historic properties such as the Waldorf Astoria housed in the Admirally Arch with its opening scheduled for the first half of 2025 which will have 96 rooms, the Rosewood Chancery which will be developed in the former Embassy of the United States of America while the St. Regis will be opened next yearcreated by the renovation of the Westbury Hotel in the elegant Mayfair district.
