Palermo | Exceeded One Million Passengers in August at Falcone Borsellino Airport


Falcone Borsellino Airport of Palermo international hub located at Cinisi northwest of the capital of Sicily also exceeded one million passengers in August 2024.

There were 1.004.073 travelers in transit at Sicily's largest airport, a figure that means an increase of 11.28% compared to the same period in 2023 and even an increase of 26.30% compared to the same period in 2022.

The data released by Gesap reveal that the number of flights in August were 6.975 which means an increase of 10.64% compared to August 2023 and going into detail it emerges that the international segment accounted for 39.5% of the total.

Avionews.it the news agency specializing in air transport, helicopters, airports, defense, security and space based in Rome has reported useful data that reveals the overall figures of the first eight months of 2024 during which the Falcone Borsellino Airport in Palermo recorded more than 6 million passengers which translates into an increase of 10.88% compared to the same period of the previous year with a growth in terms of flights of 10.88% and 31.88% international travelers.
