Brazil | Remarkable Rise of International Visitor Spending


Brazil, the largest and easternmost country in South America and Latin America, facing the Atlantic Ocean to east with approximately 7.600 km of tropical coastline with a multitude of stunning beaches and very attractive bays, country also highlighted by the Amazon rainforest covering 3.6 million square km of its territory, the world' largest jungle, with an immense biodiversity and a rich cultural heritage has seen a remarkable rise between January and September of the current year of international visitor spending.

Data published by the Central Bank of Brazil, linked to the Ministry of Finance and, like all other central banks representing the main monetary authority of the country, recorded that visitors from abroad who arrived in Brazil between january and september spent about R$30.821 million, approximately €4.78 billions.

The Central Bank of Brazil said that these are considered notable results and the best achievement in the last ten years which means a growth of 25%.

Another figure provided is that relating to the month of september alone, which notes that international tourists spent more than R$ 3.0 million in reais equivalent to about €479 million during their stays in Brazil.

Brazil's Minister of Tourism Celso Sabino said that there is a growing demand for international interest to discover the beauty and attractiveness of Brazil shows that the country has a very valuable economic market on which to work further with actions and public policies that promote national tourist attractions abroad.
