Belize, country located on the north – eastern coast of Central America, with Caribbean Sea shorelines to east, famed for its pristine beaches, massive barrier reef dotted with hundreds of cays, a rich marine life, dense jungle areas home to iconic Mayan ruins just launched a new digital Immigration and Custom System for travellers.
The new system designed to make travellers journey smooth and stress - free. which took effect on 1st December 2024 is now available for all travellers entering and extiting through Belize City's Philip Goldson International Airport.
This online departure and arrival immigration and customs form for now it's a phased transition, during a three - month phased rollout travellers can choose between digital and traditional paper forms.
This hybrid approach will start to ensure a smooth transition while the system is fine - tuned based on user feedback welcomed during this transition phase, supporting continual improvements.
By 1st January 2025 the platform will be extended to all Belize ports of entry, marking a complete shift to a fully digital process for the country and aligning with the government's broader efforts to modernize travel procedures, emphasizing data accuracy, efficiency and sustainability.
Government Officials said that this new platform will significantly reduce and eliminate the need for paper forms.
