New York-Metropolitan Museum and Gianlorenzo Bernini the Great Master of Baroque Sculpture until 06th January 2013 in the Exhibition "Bernini Sculpting in clay."

 The city of New York and the Metropolitan Museum embraces Gian Lorenzo Bernini,the great Master and genius,sculptor ,painter, architect, probably the best Baroque sculptor in the history the man who changed the urban face of Rome with his great works such as Piazza Navona and  the Fountain of the Four Rivers,the colonnade of St. Peter,the Church of San Andrea al Quirinale,Palazzo Chigi-Odescalchi,the statues of Enea ,Anchise,Ascanius and the Proserpina Kidnapping among some of his most important works.

Bernini contributed with multitude of statues and monuments that still some sources currently contribute to the beauty of Roma.The talented artist anyway started to work with small models of marble and terra-cotta.The "Met"will displays from the 03th October 2012 to the 06th January 2013 the exhibition "Bernini: Sculpting in Clay,"a great and unique event to discover the secrets and the talent of the Neapolitan Master displaying about 40 models of Terra Cotta works and many drawings including the designs used to build the famous "Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi" and other sculptures .


These unique works by Bernini was used as models to receive the commissions from the Popes and the Vatican State.The exhibit will include the terra-cotta model for Bernini's lion, planned for the base of Rome's Piazza Navona fountain, as well as the models for the Angel with Superscription."Many works by the Master of the Vatican come from important museums such as Galleria degli Uffizi of Florence,Musei Vaticani of Rome,Victoria and Albert Museum of London,Musée du Louvre of Paris among others.

It is an unique appointment you ca not miss if you are in the beautiful NYC because the major part of the objects have never been displayed in the United States of America.
