Cuba, third most populous country in the Caribbean situated where the Northern Caribbean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico meet consolidates furthermore its ties with Russian tourism that have existed for several decades after the International Trade Fair for Travel and Tourism REST, held in Moskow from 17th to 19th September at Expocentre Fairground of the Russian capital.
The 30th edition of this tourism fair, which saw the presence of more than 25 countries, was also attended by the Tourism Board of Cuba and after the event the Tourism Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Moskow, Cristina León announced that the Cuban Ministry of Tourism expects to receive more than 185.000 travellers from Russia by the end of 2024.
This significant, future tourist flows in addition to the consolidated market of origin now present for many years should be incremented with an increase in air connections between Russia and several Cuban destinations.
As additional note, new operations in incoming should go beyond the most famous and usual destinations such as the capital Havana, Varadero acclaimed, leading tourist destination and popular beach resort town covering Cuba's Hicacos Peninsula highlighted by 20 kilometres of Ocean coastline and Cayo Coco,idyllic, tropical island in the Jardines del Rey chain well known for its stunning white – beaches and coral reefs.
