Panama Promotes Itself as Leading Kosher Destination in Central America

 

Panama, country on the isthmus linking Central and South America, well known for its iconic Canal connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, for its diversity and a wide variety of landscapes all around its territory launches the Panama Kosher Tourism project which, according to the General Administrator of ATP, Panama Tourism Authority Gloria De León will have a positive impact on the country's economy.

The General Coordinator of the initiative Ezra Cohen emphasized that this project has as its primary objective to make Panama a leading destination for kosher travellers in Central America by offering an attractive, complete experience that above all combines hospitality, culture and respect for kosher laws creating a very pleasant combination.

This innovative initiative, recently launched, is purely about the Jewish kosher standards, considered a sort of catalyst for specialized tourism in the country and the Panama Kosher Tourism platform representing in its spirit and essence an effective tool to position the Latin American country as the main kosher friendly destination in Central America.

Kosher is linked to the basic laws of Biblical origin that complies with the strict Jewish dietary standard and regulations of kashrut, laws apply to food derived from living creatures where some foods are restricted to certain types of birds, fish and mammals meeting specific criteria.

Kosher food are permitted to be eaten and can be used as ingredients in the production of additional food items and it is also embraced by a sort of mystical philosophy considering kosher food very healthy for the soul and according to the Kabbalah eating is a process of purification.

Linked to the most rooted traditions in tourism many kosher tourist packages are mainly geared toward the traditional Jewish holidays throughout the year including Hanukkah, Passover and Sukkot.

The Initiative Coordinator added that this project, with its subsequent launch, represents a milestone in Panama's tourism industry, reinforcing the country's vision of becoming the first kosher destination in this land of the American Continent.
