SNCF, the Société nationale des chemins de fer français, the National Company of the French Railways, France's national state - owned railway company and DB, the Deutsche Bahn AG, the national railway company of Germany, state - owned enterprise under the control of the German government have inaugurated on 16th December 2024 at 9.55 am the Paris – Berlin high speed train.

The trains will speed at 320 km/h in France and then slow them down to 250 km/h in Germany where the so called "Très grande vitesse" the very high speed does not yet exist.
The Deutsche Bahn Production Manager Anja Schöllmann said that this connection creates a new bridge between two major cultural and political centres of the European Continent. .
The CEO of SNCF, Jean - Pierre Farandou declared that the eight – hour route between Paris and Berlin can be long, at first there was a bit of hesitation a bit, but in the end people can stay eight hours, as long as the train is comfortable and there is s good crew.
