United Investment Portugal, known by the acronym UIP, a group that provides various services in the areas of asset management, sales, marketing, real estate and hospitality, part of the Arab group Al-Bahar plans to open two Yotel units in Portugal.
Yotel is a hotel group that operates under three different brands, Air, Yotel and Yotel Pad which opened its first hotel in 2007 in Great Britain at Gatwick Airport.
These Yotels feature sophisticated self-check-in kiosks with keyless entry, adjustable lighting and mood system, convertible double beds and robots that deliver to your room as in the case of two hotels of this kind, one in Boston and the other in Singapore.
These futuristic Yotels use two robots called Yogiro and Yolinda that help the hotel with room service. It is not an absolute novelty in the Lusitanian country since already in 2021 this innovative avant-garde brand had entered in the second city of Portugal Oporto.
The statements of the Director of UIP to Jornal de Negocios have made it known that these robots are about to reach other locations in Portugal.
The company that owns Pine Cliffs is expected to invest €30 million to open a unit in Portugal, although the location has not been revealed, while the Yotel planned in the country's capital, Lisbon is expected to have an investment of approximately €60 million but will not open this year.
Other revelations from the official have leaked that there will also be investments in other segments such as student housing, residential buildings and buildings that will house elderly people.
