Thailand, fascinating Southeast Asian country, famous destination well known for its tropical beaches, ancient ruins and ornate temples linked to the divine figure of Buddha, characterized by its opulent palaces and with highlights of its capital Bangkok which offers an ultra-modern landscape alongside quiet communities developed along a myriad of canals is experiencing a remarkable "boom" in terms of incoming tourism having received 17.5 million visitors between January and January June.
These notable flows in numerical terms have been confirmed by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand which has quantified an income of € 21 million.
This figure represents a 35% increase compared to the figures recorded in the same period of the year 2023 and largely follows the lines drawn by Thailand government, which aims to welcome around 36.7 million international visitors in 2024, according to forecast estimates, approaching the record of 2019, when the Asian country before the pandemic received almost 40 million tourists coming from abroad.
The data relating to the incoming of Thailand in terms of travelers coming from abroad sees China with 3.5 million tourists, reconfirming itself as the main international market followed by Malaysia with 2.5 million and South Korea with about 935,000 tourists.
Other main markets are Russia with 920,989, Laos with 618,782, Taiwan 533,280, the United States of America 507,251, Vietnam 501,895 and Great Britain with 485,093 visitors.
