Cuba, beautiful island located between the Caribbean Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, received 1.463.097 international visitors in the first seven months of 2024.
These figures were released by ONEI, the National Bureau of Statistics and Information of Cuba, which communicated other very significant data.
Among the main markets of origin are Canada followed by the Cuban community residing abroad, Russia, the United States of America, Mexico, Spain, France, Argentina and Italy.
It should be emphasized that the category corresponding to international visitors includes those who come to Cuba for leisure, business or other personal reasons, excluding all those who intend to carry out a paid activity in the Caribbean country.
ONEI confirmed that the cumulative figure from January to July represented 98.2% of that recorded in the same period of 2023, which means 26.230 fewer people.
The total number of passengers, regardless of the reason or means of transport used to get to Cuba, reached 1,905,644 during the analysis phases, which consists a 99.2% compared to the same period in 2023.
