Yucatan, Mexican state located in the northern part of the peninsula of the same name with the Gulf of Mexico off its northern coast, through the Secretary for Tourism Development Michelle Fridman presented the results in terms of new tourism investments that translate into more and better sources of employment for the local population.
According to the Secretary, there are 21 new tourism projects in Yucatan that correspond to 16.825 million pesos, equivalent to € 780 million, which will allow a decentralized economic spillover.
This means that the benefits will not be concentrated only in the capital of the state Mérida but will reach various municipalities in the interior of Yucatan such as Cuzamá, Dzemul, Espita, Hunucmá, Sisal, Tecoh, Tekantó, Tekit, Temax, Tinum, Tixkokob and Valladolid.
The Secretary for Tourism Development then pointed out that in July more than 300 tourism projects were registered with an estimated investment of 45 billion pesos equivalent to about € 2092 million.
As a
given of interest, the capital Mérida occupies 47% of this investment while
the interior of the state of Yucatan will use the remaining 53%.
