The project linked to a single ticket to visit and discover fourteen Sicilian archaeological sites was launched during a meeting organized on 09th September 2024 at the Antonino Salinas Regional Archeological Museum in Palermo well known to display one of the richest collections of Punic and Ancient Greek art in Italy.
This initiative is an extension of the formula already successfully activated for the four archaeological sites of which consist of the Palermo museum pole, Agrigento, centre known for the ruins of the ancient city of Akragas in the Valley of the Temples, a vast archeological site with well preserved Greek Temples, Segesta, one of the major cities of the Elyminas and boasting a Doric temple dating back to 420 BC as well as a Greek Amphitheater and Selinunte, iconic, extensive, ancient Greek of Magna Graecia, home to at least seven Hellenic temples.
The Regional Councillor for Cultural Heritage Francesco Paolo Scarpinato in an interview with Tgr Sicilia explained that this initiative is based on meeting the needs of families and visitors and above all on developing networks between the archeological parks of Sicily.
