Peru | Upcoming Construction of the Tourist Pier of Capachica in the Community of Llachón

 

The works of the new Tourist Pier of Capachica in the community of Llachón, a splendid, natural landscape well known for stupendous mountains view, pre Incas farm terraces and eucalyptus woods and its idyllic peninsula on the shores of Lake Titicaca at 70 kilometres from the city of Puno will begin in the second half of September according to the announcement of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru Desilú León Chempén.

This development in this important area of southern Peru, a peaceful advance in Lake Titicaca that includes 16 communities will be accompanied by a series of tourist works that will give notable inputs to this territory that offers numerous resources.

The announcement was made after the signing of the contract for the start of the works by Reyna Huamaní, Executive Director of the Plan Copesco Nacional, Marcelino Pancha, Mayor of the District Municipality of Capachica and by the Representatives of the Santa Maria Consortium, the company that won the public tender.

During the meeting, these three institutions coordinated various administrative actions for the delivery of the land that would allow the start of the works that include the construction of a modern tourist pier, parking lots, a belvedere, an area dedicated to artisans, toilets and the development of tourist signage.

All of this will require an investment of more than $18 million that is expected to benefit 220.265 domestic and international tourists over the next decade.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism commented that this is important news, emphasizing that Mincetur, the ministry in charge of issues pertaining to foreign trade of the Government and main mean for the promotion of the country, and the Government is working hard to obtain greater investments and opportunities for the entire tourism supply chain.

The development of tourism in Puno and its territory is transcendental with a strong commitment to the entire region and Capachica is a destination that fascinates tourists representing a fusion of experiential tourism and adventure.
