With Panama Stopover, the primary goal is to expand its range of action by promoting the destination and including new target markets with particular attention to those of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and the United States of America with a set goal of attracting 300.000 tourists by 2026.
Copa Airlines' Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Frequent Flyer Program Marco Ocando commented that the return of Panama Stopover reaffirms the commitment of all those involved in this relaunch to make Panama an even more attractive destination for international travellers.

Panama Stopover offers an advantage by allowing passengers transiting through the Americas hub of Panama by Copa Airlines flights to enjoy two destinations for the price of one.
In this case, travellers can extend their stay in Panama at no additional cost on the plane ticket by taking advantage of their connection to explore and discover the many attractions the country offers.
PROMTUR Panama's Executive Director of Marketing Jennifer Janson said that this new strategic alliance with Copas Airlines will allow more people to take advantage of the Panama Stopover programme offer and for the country increasing the number of visitors to generate more revenue.

By the end of 2024, it is expected that 150.000 tourists will have visited Panama taking advantage of the Panama Stopover programme which would represent about 8% of the total number of international visitors arriving in the country in the current year.
