Turkey | Goal to Enter the Top Three of World Incoming Tourism Leaders

 

Turkey, large trancontinetal state with a territory extending across the Anatolian peninsula in western Asia, and also includes a European part, the extreme territorial section of Thrace called European Türkiye, country boasting a rich historical and cultural heritage with monumental and natural beauties of great importance wants to be among the top three destinations in terms of number of tourists in the world,  an immediate goal announced by the Turkish government.

Turkey has been a very popular destination for a long time, but after the COVID-19 pandemic it has developed significant and very solid promotion campaigns, reaching a very significant market share and having extraordinary tourist rowth with aims that aim higher and higher in the world ranking.

Currently, Turkey in 2024 occupies the fifth position very close to the fourth in the ranking of incoming tourism and to further climb this position it is intensifying promotional actions to increase tourism from the United States of America, China and South Korea.

In 2023, Turkey welcomed a bit more than one million US tourists and directly linked to that, the Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Turkey expects to exceed one and a half million of US visitors in the current year and he commented that these figures are those expected by the three markets on which it is focused and that about 600,000 tourists from China will probably be welcomed.

 The minister also announced that Turkey already wishes to join the league of major tourist destinations  and in an interview, the minister said that the goal is to reach $60 billion in tourism revenue by 2024 and in 2025 to be established among the three world leaders.

Another signal of success comes from Antalya, city and capital of the province of the same name located on the Gulf of the Adalia on the slopes of the western Taurus mountains which has surpassed Mallorca as far as the German market of origin is concerned.

The commercial action does not stop here, in fact 179 advertising campaigns are on the launch pad in 39 countries, many of which in partnership with various airlines.

In this large-scale promotion there is a very significant potential that in addition to Antalya, the fulcrum and main Turkish tourist hub, there are destinations of great charm such as the Black Sea, Cappadocia and even Eastern Anatolia, all destinations that are promoted.
