Morocco | Leading Tourist Destination in the African Continent

 

Morocco, North African country in the Maghreb region bordering the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, a land with a relevant historic patrimony and distinguished by its Arabian, Berber and European cultural influences elevated itself as leading tourist destination in the African continent.

The other North African nation, Egypt which as Africa's top tourist destination concerning incoming tourism recorded 15.7 million tourist at the end of 2024, was eventually dethroned by Morocco, with 15.9 million visitors at the end of November 2024.

This relevant performance highlights the efforts of the Maghreb Kingdom in its successful promotion abroad and constant progress and improvements concerning hospitality services, infrastructures and marketing, operations linked to Morocco's Agenda 2030 which includes plans to modernize its economy and public services, and to achieve several Sustainable Development Goals to become a leading, competitive player in the global market and with the aim of attracting 26 million tourists by 2030.
