Taiwan, officially the Republic of China, also Known as Formosa, situated in East Asia between the East and South China seas in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, through its authorities announced the launch of a new digital nomad via, already in force and allowing international digital professionals to stay in the country for up to 6 months.
This new visa program was established as part of a Taiwanese government's approach to attracting professionals from around the world.
The Minister of Taiwan's National Development Council, Liu Chin - ching reported on a study by the British firm Global Citizen Solutions, a boutique investment migration consultancy focused on finding the right residency or citizenship by investment program for individuals wishing to secure their future and become global citizens, which ranks Taiwan first in Asia for digital nomads, highlighting that Taiwanese's food, living conditions and tourist attractions are globally recognized.
The Tainan Mayor Huang Wei which noted that Taiwan was designed by CNN Travel as one of the top 24 destinations, which is undoubtedly another potential attraction for digital nomads.
All that is not Taiwan's first effort to attract more visitors and back just two years ago, in 2023, in an effort to reach the country's goal of welcoming 6 million travellers that year, Taiwan's government offered the equivalent of $165 to individual visitors and up to $658 to groups of tourists visiting the Asian country.
