Castelfranco Veneto, a town and comune of the Veneto region, in the province of Treviso, in northern Italy centrally located between the the cities of Treviso, Padua and Vicenza, higlighted by a walled centre with a well - preserved medieval castle and well known to be the birthplace of Giorgione, famous painter of the Venetian school during the High Renaissance, inaugurated its new IAT, which stands for “Informazione e Accoglienza Turistica”Tourist Information and Reception, a point of reference for tourists and citizens that provides information and assistance for the promotion of the local area and its tourist resources.
The plan to renovate the offices dedicated to reception and tourist information led by the Veneto region, central element of the regional strategy to enhance the territory, also reached Castelfranco Veneto. The IAT offices, represent, in fact, a fundamental meeting point between public bodies, operators in the sector and visitors.
This new office is part of the regional IAT network, which today has 80 active offices throughout the Veneto Region, all integrated into the the Destination Management System (DMS).
The IAT office is a strategic tool that allows local tourist information to be connected with the sites of the destinations, strengthening their visibility also through the national Tourism Digital Hub, a system that feeds portals such as Veneto.eu, Italia.it and the Veneto Around Me web app, thus offering tourists a fluid experience, both in person and online.
The Regional Councillor for Tourism, Federico Caner, who spoke at the inauguration of the new headquarters of the IAT of Castelfranco Veneto, housed in the historic Palazzo Soranzo Novello, situtated in Corso XXIX Aprile, in the presence of local authorities, stated that the redevelopment or identification of new locations as is the case of Castelfranco Veneto, confirms the Region’s committment to continue to invest in quality tourism, rooted in the territories but increasingly connected.
The Regional Councillor added that through the publishing and coordinated image project, the body is also building a unified visual identity that strengthens the “Veneto brand”.
In a context in which technology plays a key role it’s important to remember that the staff of IAT offices continues to be irreplaceable. Their preparation, dedication and ability to welcome visitors are among the most relevant factors in the positive perception of a destination and they represent, even today, one of the most effective tools of regional destination marketing.
