The Government of Baja California Sur, a state located on the Baja California Peninsula in Northwest Mexico will officially implementing EMBRACE IT, a digital tax on inernational visitors who will stay in the Mexican state for more than 24 hours.to support sustainable tourism.
EMBRACE IT is a tourism tax authorized by Article 129 Bis of the Baja California Sur State Treasury Law, as well as Section IV - VII of the General Rules, which specify the means and mechanism to pay the tax fee and it will be implemented in collaboration with TTMX, Tourist Tax México S.A. de C.V. , utilizing Travelkore’s SaaS technology.
This iniatitive measure seeks to generate funds to strengthen the conservation of the natural environment, community development and local infrastructure.
The established import is 470 Mexican dollars per person, approximately US$25. The payment must be made exclusively online through the global technology platform Travelkore that manages tourist tax and ensures regulatory compliance, offering an easy, seamless, and transparent experience. Travellers must present their proof of payment at the state’s entry and exit points.
The resources will be used for :
• Environmental protection
• Infrastructure improvement
• Social and Cultural Project

Minister of Finance and Administration Bertha Montaño Cota, stated that the Ministry commitment is to provide an unforgettable tourism experience protecting the state’s ecosystems and supporting the well - being of local communities and EMBRACE IT is a key tool to achieve this.
