IHG Hotels & Resorts | Holiday Inn Brand Returns in Kyoto in 2025

 

IHG Hotels & Resorts alias InterContinental Hotels Group, famous British multinational hospitality company with headquarter in Windsor – Berkshire has announced that it has signed an agreement with AXA IM Alts well known global investment management firm for the opening of the Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo Hotel by early 2025.

This project is the second agreement between AXA IM Alts and IHG, the hotel will be the eleventh property of the Holiday Inn brand in Japan.

This operation also means a return to the roots with the first Holiday Inn Hotel opened in Kyoto back in 1973 and will be IHG's third hotel in the Japanese city alongside the Six Senses Kyoto Hotel and the ANA Crowne Plaza Kyoto.

The hotel boasts an excellent and very strategic location, perfect for visitors arriving in Kyoto by the Shinkasen high-speed bullet train due to the proximity of the station, in an area well stocked with restaurants and bars and not far from the main historical and cultural attractions of the city.

The accomodation will provide 183 rooms fully equipped with all the services it will undergo restoration and restyling, remanagement of the rooms and with priority to improve the energy efficiency of the structure, including the installation of energy-saving showers, actions to obtain the BELS certification.

Once the work is finished, it will be named as Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo.The services available to guests will be a bar, cafeteria, rooms for meetings, conventions and banquets, lobby lounge, gym providing all equipment, traditional Japanese daiyokujo baths and an outdoor café-bar.

With this new opening, IHG will strengthen a significant operation and invitation to attract new visitors to Japan with the influence of its brand also offering its world-famous IHG One Rewards loyalty program used as an excellent Incentive.
