Rimini – Parco del Mare | For a Slower and Greener City

Rimini, very famous destination on the Romagna Riviera, has its new tourist symbol in the Parco del Mare, moving from a seaside city to a city on the sea.

This project for the redevelopment of the seafront proceeds by transforming the approximately 16 kilometers of Rimini's maritime coast, operations that are actively being carried out having already transformed the Belvedere area into Marina Centro and the Spadazzi promenade into Miramare di Rimini.

This project has been designed and developed to give a new urban make-up in the name of environmental protection and sustainability, transforming Rimini in one of the greenest and slowest cities in the field of tourism in Italy.

All this will see more green areas, implementation of Adriatic vegetation, outdoor gyms and gyms for outdoor sports spaces for cycle paths, sea forests and fountain trees inspired by Gianni Rodari.

The Centre for Advanced Studies on Tourism of the University of Bologna – Rimini Campus in collaboration with Uni.Rimini has as its primary objective to understand the behaviour of tourists and their propensity to practice physical activities in the area of the Parco del Mare.

Interviews have found that 62% have noticed a change in the image of Rimini, 55% have declared that the Parco del Mare represents an additional tourist attraction for Rimini and over 50% have stated that these works provide greater environmental and social benefits for the city.
