Alabama | Presentation and Promotion of Tourist Itineraries Along 25 Trails for 2025

Alabama, southeastern U.S. state that's home to very significant landmarks from the American Civil Rights Movement, beautiful gulf coast beaches, a thriving agriculture, music and gastrnomia industry nicknamed the "Yellowhammer State" after state bird and also known as "Cotton State" and "Heart of Dixie" with the north dominated by mountainous Tennessee Valley and the south by Mobile Bay presented and started a promotion of tourist itineraries with 25 trails available from next January 2025.

During an event held in Milan, these routes were unveiled for the Italian market and will extend throughout the state and will showcase every feature.

As a preview, three of these itineraries have been unveiled, the first is the Civil Rights theme which had as highlights the protests led by the Reverend Martin Luther King, the Birmingham bombings and the fundamental Selma march in Montgomery, events that led the Government to pass the Civil Rights Act in 1965.

The second itinerary will concern the restaurants starring icons of the culinary art of Alabama with one of the protagonists the historic Wintzell's Oyster House located in Mobile, port city's on Alabama's Gulf Coast on the banks of the river of the same name, a restaurant active for 85 years, originally opened as a six stool bar, a landmark seriving delicious oyters "Fried Stewed and Nude" as well as other great seafood dishes.

The third itinerary will be dedicated to the famous people of Alabama who have left an indelible mark in this southern territory of the United States of America.

Each of these itineraries will also touch iconic places such as the Baptist Church of Birmingham in the Jefferson County important regional hub associated with the Deep South, Piedmont and Appalachian regions of the nation situated on the 16th Street and bombed in 1963 and the Rosa Parks Museum located on the Troy University at Montgomery satellite campus which provides exhibits,  information and some artifacts from the 1955 Montgomery bus boycott.

As relevant note 2025 will be a year of important anniversaries for the state of Alabama, with the 60th anniversary of "Bloody Sunday" on March 07th, March 25th  will be the turn of the anniversary of the Selma March in Montgomery while December 1st  will mark the 70th anniversary of the boycott of Rosa Parks.
