Uruguay | Launch of the World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations

 

Uruguay country of South America, sharing its borders with Brazil, Argentina crossed by the Rio de la Plata river well known for its verdant interior and a splendid beaches on the Atlantic Ocean launches the World Network of Religious and Spiritual Tourism Destinations.

The coordinator of the World Network of Religious and Cultural Tourism Destinations Rosario Bianco stressed that this network is an international platform to connect all religious and spiritual tourism destinations with the aim of promoting diversity in a sustainable and responsible way.

This initiative aims to strengthen the theme and the segment by facilitating cooperation between the member destinations of the network to promote their places of religious tourism by making them known to the world.

This tourist segment has always been a rather fascinating area offering the opportunity to visit monuments, ancient places with history, traditions and with a remarkable cultural heritage that are important not only for religion but also for the development of art and culture linked to any historical fact.

The World Network of Religious and Cultural Tourism Destinations represents in its essence a system of strategies generating innovations in the territories and today the link between heritage and religious tourism combine and complement each other and all this is a further expression of culture.

Locally, Uruguay has a rich heritage composed by sanctuaries, images, beliefs and devotions linked to each other capable of creating a religious feeling that is transformed in its essence into a tourist product.

Bound to all that, becoming part of the network guarantees international promotion and immediate inclusion on the market that deals with this theme and segment.

The Minister of Tourism Remo Monzeglio linked to all thiat highlighted the freedom of worship in Uruguay, a country of freedom, where there is room for everyone with religious tourism that embraces all sectors, women, men of faith and all this unites and strengthens the bonds.

The recognition it has received from an international perspective and that everybody must see it from a tourism and economic point of view and from the faith of what each one believes which is what will ensure that human beings will continue to have hope.
