The luxury 5 – star private island resort W Maldives launched about 20 years ago will reopen next January 2025 after extensive restyling operations and will return to be one of the shining gems of W Hotels, American hospitality chain founded in 1998 by Starwood Hotels & Resorts owned by Marriott International operating around 70 upscale hotels and long – stay apartment facilities worldwide.
W Maldives is located on the idyllic island of Fesdu in the North Ari Atoll, also known as Alif Alif Atoll, part of one of the biggest Maldivian atolls located in the west of the archipelago consisting of inhabited and uninhabited islands on a secluded private island overlooking the Pacific Ocean just 25 minutes by seaplane from the country's capital Malé.
The new restyled W Maldives provides 77
renovated villas, developed on the beach and on the water that faithful to the
local culture blend indoor and outdoor life through the harmonious use of
bio-boho design a free aesthetic style that often mixes different cultures and
artistic expressions with the spread of eclectic lines and outlines.
The luxurious outdoor spaces of the villas offer seamless connections with the surrounding beauty conveying at first glance feelings of calm, peace, relaxation and inspiration.
W Maldives will also introduce a series of sustainability initiatives with actions aimed at minimizing the impact on the environment such as the elimination of single-use plastic bottles and services, the installation of a biogas plant to recycle food waste into fertilizers, orgamic and methane gas.
There will also be an in-house planting of herbs and fruits, specially planned to promote self-sufficiency by the end of 2025.
