El Salvador,
state in Central America that in more recent times it has begun a process of
industrialization and diversification of the economy, through the Ministry of
Tourism is developing efforts to meet the needs generated by the tourism
explosion of the country, consolidating itself as an emergent destination
thanks to its rich cultural and historic heritage linked to the Pre – Colombian
civilizations, a rich biodiversity, natural beauties along its coastline and in
its interior creating a plan to attract tourism investments.
Thus The Ministry together with CAF, the development Bank of Latin America, multilateral financial institution whose mission is to support the sustainable development of its shareholder countries and regional integration and UN Tourism, the United Nations agency responsible for the promotion of responsible, sustainable and universally accessible tourism released a guide to attract tourism investments.
The plan was commented on by the Minister of Tourism Morena Valdez during a TV appearance in which the Salvadoran Head of tourism assured that this is the first initiative of its kind in Central America to motivate local and international investment.
The Ministry of Tourism repeatedly stressed the country’s need to expand its hotel plant to meet the demand generated by the influx of visitors in the last two ot three years.
Meanwhile the CAF, Executive President Sergio Diaz
Granados said that the next stage is the dissemination of the guide at the
International Tourism Fair, Fitur in Madrid – Spain, which will take place in
January 2025 an event which will be a relevant showcase for the country at international level.
The bank’s President also commented that the business climate, policies and stable economy as well as infrastructure and human talent contribute to Salvadoran tourism and the nation needs investment in infrastructures, restaurants, transportation and public goods facilities.
