Paraguay | Elevating itself as a Relevant MICE Tourism Destination in Latin America

Paraguay, South American landlocked country situated between Argentina, Bolivia and Brazil, land highlighted by subtropical forests, vast plains, chaco, wilderness comprising savanna and scrubland and its distinctive Guarani culture with its strategic location, a stable economy and infrastructure, keys to making the country attractive for election as a relevant destination for MICE tourism in Latin America.

Victor Chamorro, the current Director of Meeting Tourism of SENATUR, the National Secretariat of Tourism, body that establish the national tourism policy, guiding, promoting, facilitating and regulating the development of tourism in Paraguay for the benefit of visitors and citizens in general highlighted the location of the South American country, its stable economy and quality infrastructure at low cost of Paraguay,  mentioning equidistance, with the nation in the heart of everything, two and half hours from the main capitals of South America and with a good regional connection.

It is easy and quick to get to Paraguay and it is not only about prices, but also economic stability, which is very important to plan type of events organized and scheduled at least one or two years in advance and all that can only be done in a stable scenario, because in the case of other Latin American countries,  making a budget that next year could not be met is a challenge for the organizers.

The Director of Meeting Tourism of SENATUR also specified that people who come for events or conventions, generally come without having any idea about Paraguay and once they arrive they find a fantastic country that amazes them, highlighting that 40% of the people who come to the country return with their families.
