The Minister also provided data concerning incoming tourism, highlighting that the country welcomed in 2024 2.203.117 visitors which represent 71% of the plan and 90.3% of what was achieved in 2023 and of the main market concerning important points analyzed, eight grew compared to the previous year and five met forecasts.
A further detail provided by the Ministery was regarding the 132 international awards were received in 174 facilities confirming the excellent quality of the establishments linked to the hospitality industry, and other relevant recognitions that led culture and beaches highlighting the attractiveness of Cuba as relevant destination and these international accolades support the optimism of the Cuban tourism industry.
Cuba currently boasts about 84.000 rooms and 19 international chains participate in tourism activity, of which 14 are making investments and are in operation, something to take in high consideration to have an optimistic vision.
In terms of digital transformation, the Minister of Tourism highlighted the strategy promoted to improve internet connection services, and Cayo Largo remains as a driving project of the digital agenda of the country.
