Assisi | New Tourist Information Portal and more than 826.000 Visitors in the First Seven Months of 2024

Assisi, iconic hill town in central Italy's Umbria region in the province of Perugia regarded as the birthplace of St. Francis and the Latin poet Propertius, famous Roman Catholic shrine and a popular pilgrimage site has a new tourist information portal completely renewed.

This novelty was wanted by the Municipality with funds linked to the call launched by the Ministry of Tourism for the tourist revival of cities with a tourist-cultural vocation, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

During the presentation, data relating to tourist presences in the first seven months of the current year were also illustrated, which see Assisi as the undisputed leader in regional tourism with over 826.000 visitors in the area and an increasing trend compared to the same period in 2023.

The Mayor of Assisi Stefania Proietti commented that it is at the beginning of a path that provides for further actions useful for a progressive and constant improvement of the portal which represents a strategic point of reference in the promotion of Assisi and its territory in synergy with the institutional channels of tourism that are recording exponential growth.
