The James Suite Hotel Firenze 1564 Has Opened its Doors in the Very Heart of Florence, Italy

The James Suite Hotel Firenze 1564, a luxury boutique hotel has opened its doors in the very heart of Florence, the beautiful capital city of Tuscany sits on the banks of the Arno River at the foothills of the Appennines, known to be the cradle of the Renaissance, boasting a unique and historical heritage visible in its outstanding architecture, monuments, and prominent museums scattered all around its boundaries.

The hotel is part of Manfredi Fine Hotels Collection owned by Counts Goffredo and Leonardo Ceglia Manfredi, a collection that includes hotels and restaurants that stand out for their exclusive location and the extremely high quality of the services, designed for a clientele in search of beauty and traditional, refined Italian style.

The property is located at Via di Mezzo, 20, in the beating heart of Florence close to the lively streets Via Fiesolana and Via dei Pilastri, only 0.7 km from the iconic Galleria Degli Uffizi and the 13th century Palazzo Vecchio, a short distance from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and a 17 - minute walk from the emblematic Ponte Vecchio bridge.

The hotel is hosted in a former Florentine palace where 16th century grandeur and contemporary luxury blend beautifully together, originally a convent built in 1564 and retaining many Renaissance features including an off - centre doorway, vaulted ceilings, and an inner courtyard.

The development of this stylish boutique hotel is a masterpiece by James Cavagnari, a talented architect and designer born in London in 1964 and raised in Florence, with a career spanning luxury and hospitality, who also designed more than 200 boutiques for Salvatore Ferragamo and led the global retail redesign for Bvlgari.

James Suite Hotel Suite features 14 stylish and comfortable suites, the refined 1564 Lounge Bar and the elegant The James Restaurant. The hotel's F&B venues serve traditional Italian dishes with a Mediterranean twist alongside cocktails that feature rare spirits and botanicals.

A highlight of the property is the late Queen Elizabeth II's original wardrobe housed at the hotel, crafted from mahogany wood with compartments for garments, scarves and accessories and is on display alongside a portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth.
