Orense, city located in the autonomous community of Galicia in northwestern Spain known as the "The City of Las Burgas" due to the presence of famous hot springs, where the water comes our at temperatures between 60 and 68 °C highlighted by its suggestive, medieval core where the Cathedral of the 12th century and the Puente Mayor, roman bridge built in the first century BC stand out hosts from 24th to 27th October 2024 Xantar, the unique international fair about gastronomic tourism with the International Trade Fair official stamp in Spain.
Xantar is held at Expourense exhibition center, Fundación de Ferias y Exposiciones de Ourense on the street Barrio Farixa Sup 2B with easy access to the National Road N – 525 and the multi – purpose sports arena Pazo do Deportes Paco Paz.
This important fair, now in its 25th edition, offers four days of intense activities that highlights quality agri-food products, production and professional service, defending and promoting quality gastronomy, sustainable and healthy tourism, mixing innovation and tradition of the regions represented by specific tastings, live cooking, exhibitions and many other activities in four days full of experiences to discover and live.
Xantar has long become a reference point for the most avant-garde food and wine destinations both in Spain and in neighboring Portugal, attracting other international participants with a strong interest especially from Latin America.
The fair in this 2024 edition will host activities aimed at both professionals and amateurs with the primary objective of betting on a balanced diet based on qualitative products and the International Meeting on Sustainable and Healthy Gastronomy will be a backbone of Xantar.
The protagonists of the event will be live cooking shows that will see renowned chefs at work, tastings, ideal pairings, conferences by experts, talks and exchange of opinions, presentations of innovative products and to accommodate this wide program of activities Xantar will provide three gastronomic classrooms, a tasting room and a tunnel dedicated to wine.
In this 2024 the fair in addition to consolidating its relevance is determined to become a vital meeting point without changing the essence of the event and the organization has included innovations.
The first novelty concerns the access that from this year will be free so there will be no entrance ticket thus eliminating any waiting times at the entry gates or invitation required.
Xantar also includes participation in over 100 activities such as cooking workshops, commented tastings, festival promotions, and participation in the activities will be free until the maximum capacity is reached.
As always, the fair will have guests, renowned restaurants that will offer menus made with quality local products, an aspect that is therefore identified within the essence and innovative spirit of Xantar and the themes that are the highlights of this event.
In the field of catering, in addition to the restaurants mentioned, there will be no shortage of news and Xantar will have a large "Tapas Area" with several stalls that will offer different types of tapas that can be enjoyed on site or buy and consume in the central dining room with a sort of motto "an octopus tapa for me, Mexican tacos for you and we can eat together at the same tabl"e.
Xantas aims to become a meeting point where you can meet for after the working day, with a drink, a coffee, enjoying a tapa or a dinner enjoying the concert of a great band and connected to that on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 21.00 to 23.00 there will be musical concerts.
