Benidorm, renowned municipality in the province of Alicante in the Valencian community, very lively centre on the Mediterranean coast, a tourist destination on the famed Costa Blanca in Spain, very popular since 1925 when the first hotels were built and its port was extended, known as "the New York of the Mediterranean"for a large presence of skycrapers, very famous for its long Levante and Poniente beaches and a vibrant nightlife, will host the XXII International Tourism Forum of Benidorm on 30th October 2024.
The event, which will be held at the Ayuntamiento de Benidorm, the municipal building of the city located in Plaza SSMM Los Reyes de España is promoted by the Chair of Tourism Studies "Pedro Zaragoza Orts, of the University of Alicante in partnership with Benidorm City Council, Costa Blanca Trust, the Tourism Board of the Valencian Community, the Benidorm Tourism Foundation and HOSBEC, the Hotel and Tourism Business Association of the Valencian Community.
Since its inception in 1995, this event has taken place every two years and has addressed various issues and key themes for the planning and management of destinations and tourism companies in the Valencian Community.
In this 2024 edition, the Forum will explore the impact of AI, Artificial Intelligence on tourism under the motto "Tourism of the future AI Horizons" highlighting how this technology transforms the personalization of services, operational efficiency and the visitor experience.
The Forum will be also broadcasted live on the web, but if the potential participants wish to attend in person, they must register on the Forum website.
In addition, the Forum has launched a competition of promotional videos of Benidorm and/or the Costa Blanca made with Artificial Intelligence inviting students, companies and institutions to participate to this initiative.
