Baja California, Mexican state situated on a splendid peninsula with the same name
bordering the U.S, state of California, with lanscapes span stunning beaches on
the Pacific Ocean and Gulf of California, mountains, forests and deserts, well
known to be a famous nightlife and shopping destination, through its Ministry
of Tourism presented an attractive social tourism program named "Corazones
Viajeros" Traveling Hearts.
This initiative has been designed to offer those who live in Baja California travel opportunities to one oof the tourist attractions of this Mexican land with a duration of two days and one night, seeking to bring the the state' s tourism heritage close to all Baja Californians, promoting its access and enjoyment.
In this new modality, beneficiaries will receive a voucher of 1.500 Mexican pesos covering half of the cost of the trip, while travellers must contribute the remaining 1.500 pesos per person, in accordance with the operating rules published in May 2024.
This effort has been internationally recognized, as it was nominated by the International Social Tourism at the ISTO Awards 2024, highlighting the importance and positive impact of the program in promoting social and accessible tourism in the region.
The Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguiñiga Rodriguez said that the program "Corazones Viajeros" promoted by Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, represents the commitment of the State Government to promote and highlight the wonders of the region while strengthening the identity of the community.
The Secretary of Tourism of the Mexican State added that the social tourism promoted by this program is well aligned with the principles of inclusion, sustainability and solidarity that guide the actions of the Ministry of Tourism of Baja California.
In this first stage, travellers will be able to visit one of the four routes included in the program such as "Flavors and Roots" towards the Valle de Guadalupe, famed agricultural region in the Ensenada Municipality, a territory which produces 70% of Mexican wine and a popular tourist destination with an ample gastronomic offer highlighted by the Baja Med cuisine, or the "Kumiai route" towards Tecate, Magical Town,relevant, regional economic hub and renowned destination, known as home to the Tecate Port of Entry and to Tecate Beer.
From Mexicali, important centre and capital of the state, situated in a broad depression of the Colorado Desert known locally as the Mexicali Valley consisting in a southern extension of California's Imperial Valley, visitors can enjoy "San Felipe" and "Adventure and Flavor San Felipe" available routes.
These captivating trips include an itinerary of two days and one night of lodging, round - trip ground transportation provided by the company ABC Buses, as well as various activities that vary according to the chosen destination, such as tours of wineries, museums, ecotourism centres, archaeological sites, parks, ranches, among other tourist attractions and sites.
The "Corazones Viajeros" program also offers an 8 - hour excursion modality, fully subsidized allowing Baja Californians to enjoy unique, tourist experiences at no cost.
