Cuba through its Ministry of Tourism is seeking to boost tourism in the country with planned strategies for 2025, the growth projections of tourism to the nation in the current year focus on launching seasonal sales that achieve the advance sale of hotel rooms, which affects the income of the tourist sector with in addition developing strategic operations in collaboration with international Tour Operators.
Directly linked to that, Pegas Touristik, Russian Tour Operator, founded in 1994 with its head office located in Moskow has already begun the advance booking of trips to Cuba for the summer of 2025, with the operation of flights from Moskow to Varadero and Cayo Loco managed by Nordwind Airlines, company founded in 2008, based in the Russian capital with its main hub at Shremetyevo International Airport, which will fly to the Caribbean island.
ATOR, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, confirmed that, when booking in advance for the summer period, the low season of tourism in Cuba, beach hotels offer discounts that reach up to 50%.
The Minister of Tourism of Cuba Juan Carlos Granda, informed the National Assembly of People's Power that the official forecast for tourist arrivals in the Caribbean island in 2024 was below the 3.2 million vacationers planned at the end of 2023, and even the subsequent downward adjustment of 2.7 million and now the Cuban authorities confirm that in 2025 expect to receive 2.6 million tourists.
