Malaysia, Southeast Asian nation occupying parts of the island of Borneo and the Malay Peninsula, one of 17 megadiverse countries, home to numerous endemic species,well known for its stunning beaches, suggestive fishing villages, rainforests, dramatic landscapes and a mix of Malay, Chinese, European and Indian influences, a very emergent tourist destination in the Asiatic continent aspires to receive 35.6 million international tourists in 2026 which is 30% more than the 27.3 million expected in 2024 also launched a campaign to become a premier global tourism destination.

Minister Anwar Ibrahim, as Southeast Asian countries compete to attract more
visitors to boost their economies and Malaysia is generating many efforts to elevate itself as a top tourist destination.
Launching VM2026 the Visit Malaysia 2026 initiative, an ambitious tourism strategy consisting in a campaign's goal which aims at generating $32.8 billion driving growth in hospitality, transport and retail in Sepang, township and district located in the southern part of the state of Selangor and where national carrier Malaysia Airlines is based, the Prime Minister said that the country will make a renewed commitment to making Malaysia a premier global tourism destination.
For the first time the VM2026 logo will appear on the aircraft of Malaysia Airlines, Batik Air and AirAsia, a collaborative effort underscores a unified push to promote the country as a top destination.
The campaign also has a theme song titled "Surreal Experiences" premiered during its launch and according to organisers, the song embodieds Malaysia's unique appeal and will play a key role in drawing international attention.
