Chiapas, southernmost state in Mexico bordering Guatemala and the Pacific Ocean, highlighted by its dense rainforest dotted with relevant Mayan culture, archaeological sites, indigenous languages, pristine beaches and mountainous highlands it's opening its new era of tourism with a commitment to native communities.
At the swearing-in as Governor of the state of Chiapas, Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, reported the appointment of María Eugenia Culebro Pérez as head of the Ministry of Tourism; Segundo Guillén Gordillo, executive general coordinator, Zita Morales Cervantes, Undersecretary of Tourism Promotion and Andrés Sánchez de León as Undersecretary of Tourism Development.
All of them will be part of the Government cabinet of Chiapas known as "The New Era" committed to the transformation and integral development of the stage.
The plan has been highlighted that the vision of the new Secretariat of Chiapas is to position the Mexican state as an epicenter of sustainable and responsible tourism, with actions aimed at strengthening tourism infrastructure, diversifying the offer of experiences for national and international visitors and promoting economic development that benefits its people.
In this way, the combination of experience, vision and a deep respect for the native communities and the environment will set the course for this new stage of Chiapas tourism.
The Governor Eduardo Ramirez Aguilar, pointed that Chiapas Institutions are very proud to present this great team that will lead innovative and strategic projects that will promote the social and economic development of the state, always taking care of the balance with the environment and the cultural heritage of Chiapas.
The Governor also reaffirmed its commitment to tourism that generates well - being, attracts investments and places the destination among the most outstanding in Mexico and abroad.
