Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Summer Tourism Stimulus Campaign to Reinforce its Image as a Diverse and Welcoming Destination Launched

Ho Chi Minh City, commonly known as Saigon, the most populous city in Vietnam, located in the southern part of the country on the western bank of the Saigon River, an Asiatic metropolis characterized by classic colonial architecture built by former French rulers, sleek skycrapers, ornate temples, Chinese pagodas and numerous museums through its Department of Tourism officially launched its 2025 summer tourism stimulus campaign started on 1st July.

The initiative unveils a series of cultural and culinary experiences aimed at enhancing the Vietnamese city's image as a vibrant, diverse and welcoming destination with key highlights include the "Find your flavour" food tour series and "these essence shines", a multi - sensory art peformances.

According to the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh, the campaign serves as both an artistic showcase and a creative learning space, inspiring cultural engagement especially among the youth. 

Blending traditional art with modern technology, the stimulus campaign highlights Ho Chi Minh City as a creative hub where culture is shared in a fresh, friendly way.

 "Find your flavour" running from July to August aims to become a key offering of this summer by integrating activities such as interactive games, videos, food passports, and all - in - one culinary city tours in partnership with local travel agencies and restaurants offering the unique opportunity to discover at the same time the relevant cultural and historical heritage and the rich gastronomy of Ho Chi Minh City. 

"The essence shines" developed by the municipal Department and Culture and Sports aims to showcase and highlight the essence and charm of the city using cutting - edge video art, light, sound, and spatial motion to depict iconic literary and artistic works from the city's last five decades.

The programme also features creative side events including digital art exhibitions on Ho Chi Minh history, comic creation contests, children's painting sessions and weekend art playogrounds.

Recently the digital travel platform Agoda, famous online operator catering customers around the world, registered and headquartered in Singapore with operations in Bangkok, Thailand, ranked Ho Chi Minh City as the top destination for getaways in Vietnam.

The Vietnamese metropolis depicted as "the city that never sleeps" offers a dynamic mix of street food and a very vibrant nightlife, catering to the growing preference among domestic travellers for quick, energy - recharging trips.

The Director of Agoda in Vietnam, Vu Ngoc Lasm noted that short trips are making it easier to explore cultural centres and lesser - known destinations, with Vietnam's diverse landscapes and intercity connectivity offering plenty of opportunities for both short and extended journeys.

Ho Chi Minh City recently consolidated itself as a very emergent destination in South East Asia, and the Department of Tourism informed that the city attracted nearly 1.64 million international visitors in the first three months of 2025, up 18.2% from the period in 2024.

 During the period, the southern economic hub of Vietnam also welcomed over 8.57 million domestic tourists, marking a year - on - year increase of 6.3%.

Total tourism revenue rose 26.7% year - on - year to 56.66 trillon VND, about $2.21 billion, achieving 21.8% of the 2025 plan.

With a strong tourism rebound this year, the city is actively working to enhance its tourism offerings and infrastructure to solidify its position as a major tourist destination in the region.
