Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, well-known Swiss hotel management company headquartered in Baar owned by the French Accor group, since 2018 continues its expansion and development of its brand and rebranding in Italy, this time with the Hotel Palace in Bari.
The Swiss brand of Accor has managed the operations with the Apulian Greenblu Group, a company operating under the management of the parent company Greenblu S.r.l. through various management bodies including Gestur had signed and entered into a 20-year lease agreement with the owners of Saiga Company.
According to reports of the newspaper La Repubblica, the agreement for the lease has been concluded on a sum approaching 1.5 million per year.
On the other hand, Greenblu will be involved in the redevelopment and resetting of the building, investing a total of 7 million euros to be deducted from the rent for these renovation and restyling operations and in the paperwork an agreement has been signed with the brand owned by Accor regarding the franchising.
Other details of this operation concern the expansion of the square footage of the rooms with a strategic plan to reduce from 198 to 180 rooms with the aim of improving the quality of the space also for issues related to on-site congress tourism.
As far as other tasks are concerned, the eighth floor of the hotel will be focused on the development of suites and wellness activities with spa, while on the ground floor there will be a bistro offering international and local cuisine.
The start of the works is scheduled for the end of May and the opening of the hotel is expected to take place in 2025 with a 4**** star classification.
Accor and Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts have added to their portfolio a structure that will certainly bring profit to a city like Bari, which has always been very active as an important exhibition center, an important destination for business, cultural tourism, leisure, events and conventions to be considered a significant source of incoming tourism.
