Masseria Montelauro is the new entry for the 2024 summer season of Uvet Hotels, the Milan-based company of the Uvet Group that manages resorts and hotels with hospitality operations; optimisation of the results financed.
Masseria Montelauro located just two kilometers from Otranto, in Salento in Apulia, is a luxurious and historic structure, a farmhouse developed more than a thousand years ago located in a verdant enclave of southern Puglia.
The Masseria, built in the year 1000, was a meeting place for monks to pray, then transformed into the herbalist's shop of the monastery that occupied the current building, located in the open countryside, surrounded by an olive grove and completed by an orchard and vegetable garden that represented distinctive symbols of a traditional farmhouse of Apulia.
Masseria Montelauro, thanks to a project aimed at maintaining the typical characteristics of the local rural historic buildings in optimal conditions, was renovated in 2001 and obtained the designation of Historic House and the Landscape Factory award delivered by UNESCO.
The structure was inaugurated as an accommodation complex on April 26, 2024, has 39 rooms equipped with all services en a splendid junior suite overlooking the orchard and Lecce stone ceiling.
At guests' disposal there is the Fimmine Restaurant which offers a menu with local specialties loyal to the deep traditions of Apulian and Salento cuisine with some combinations linked to culinary internationality, with products that come directly from the adjacent garden and from local producers.
Available for the guests also a swimming pool, lounges for social activities, a space dedicated to body and facial beauty treatments.
Masseria Montelauro is definitely a place to live peaceful holidays, in the name of tranquility, relaxation enjoying a unique experience in Puglia, admiring the historical, artistic, natural and landscape beauties of the Salento lands that have much to offer to the visitor.
