Minor Hotels | Expansion in Mexico & Latin America

Minor Hotels, well-known owner, operator and investor in the hospitality industry with its headquarter in Bangkok – Thailand boasting a portfolio of over 550 hotels in 56 countries with continuous progress in the luxury and holiday segment, aims to become one of the great protagonists also in Latin America, a market that always offers opportunities for expansion.

Five years ago, in 2019, Minor Hotels and NH Hotel Group in a strategic transaction unified their portfolio of eight brands such as Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas, Avani Hotels & Resorts, Elewana Collection, NH Hotels & Resorts, NH Collection Hotels & Resorts, nhow Hotels & Resorts, Oaks Hotels Resorts & Suites and Tivoli Hotels & Resorts, entering new markets around the world.

This collaboration between the two groups has allowed the NH and NH Collection brands to enter the Asian, Middle East and Indian Ocean markets with further expansions underway and further growth in the urban segment.

In addition to all that, Minor Hotels has strengthened its position and presence in the high-end luxury segments in Europe and the Americas through the opening of the Anantara and Tivoli brands, which have just celebrated its 90th anniversary, and considered the pinnacle of the luxury resort segment.

For that reason, and as part of the company's expansion plan, it has been announced that the brand will be unified under the same corporate identity under the name of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas with more than 230 properties in Europe and America.

The General Manager of the America Business Unit of Minor Hotels Europe & Americas stated that this integration significantly accelerates the group's global growth by strengthening the global commercial and operational structure and consequently consolidating the position in the high-end categories both in urban hotels and branded residences and resorts with different operating models benefiting the work teams,  partners and investors.

The placement of new brands such as Avani Hotels & Resorts in Mexico, specifically in Cancun, in the T zone of Bogotá, Colombia, and nhow, in Peru, represents a concrete reality linked to the lifestyle segment of the region.

Avani Hotels & Resorts is a brand that with its philosophy and identity is aimed purely at a heterogeneous audience, focused on open-minded, modern, curious and cosmopolitan travelers always looking for unique and authentic experiences that are not only limited to enjoying the natural and cultural attractions of the destination but also contribute to conservation and sustainable development.

Connected to all that, the nhow Hotels & Resorts brand will reach the Peruvian capital Lima in Miraflores at the end of 2024.
