Marriott International, American multinational hospitality company based in Bethesda, Maryland has unveiled the upcoming opening of a new JW Marriott property in Atlanta, the vibrant capital and most populous city of the US state of Georgia, and the county seat of the Fulton County, known as “The City in a Forest”, a major hub and a centre for culture, civil right history, and commerce, featuring relevant attractions like the Georgia Aquarium, Centennial Olympic Park, and the Atlanta History Center.
JW Marriott Atlanta Downtown is set to open in Spring 2026 after an extensive renovation of the former W Atlanta Downtown, located at 45 Ivan Allen Jr Boulevard, in the heart of downtown, near Civic Center and major attractions like the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca - Cola, approximately 17.7 kilometres from Hartsfield - Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
The property is operated by Stonebridge Companies, a hospitality management group based in Denver, Colorado, with the unwavering focus and sharp insights integral to effectively manage and optimize hotel portfolios.
The design, led by Looney & Associates, an acclaimed Interior Design firm specializing in projects for the Hospitality Industry with offices in Chicago, Dallas, and Honolulu, draws inspiration from Atlanta’s railway heritage, urban landscape, and cultural identity.
The entry vestibule and lobby will incorporate stone, wood, integrated lighting, and a reflective art installation. The lobby will feature a 360 - degree bar with suspended shelving and seating, an Italian - inspired restaurant, and an expanded market.
The property will feature 237 rooms and suites including 24 wellness - focused guestrooms as part of JW Marriott’s mindful Floor, marking the concept’s U.S. debut.
The Executive Lounge, exclusive to hotel guests, will offer 24 - hours access and the rooftop will include an all - weather pool bar with skyline views.
Additional amenities will include a JW Garden supplying herbs and garnishes for the hotel’s culinary venues, a fitness centre, a spa, and a boardroom overlooking the greenspace at Ted Turner Drive.
Meeting spaces have been updated with new finishes, including JW Marriott’s Black Canvas Room, which features wood floors and white walls. Public areas and guest amenities have been redesigned as part of the transformation.
The property will join JW Marriott brand characterized by an approachable mindful luxury, focusing on guest - wellbeing through holistic wellness programs, serene spaces, and experiences inspired by nature and local culture.
