International arrivals have shown strong recovery, driven by new flight routes and marketing campaigns and the government’s efforts align with global traveller trends, highlighting sustainable and authentic experiences.

The government is also very active expanding the country’s presence at international tourism forums and conferences. Through the National Congress Bureau (NCB), Zimbabwe plans to participate in the largest international exhibitions and events globally, as part of a broader strategy to increase interest in its tourist destinations.

In this framework, the authorities focus on attracting a greater flow of tourists thanks to its ample fan of offerings, which is facilitated by active work to promote Zimbabwe tourism image internationally as reported by The Herald, a state - controlled Zimbabwean mass media company published in Harare.

Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister Professor Mtuli Nkube stressed that 2026 budget for the tourism industry will continue to grow, driven by international marketing and participation in exhibitions.

The country will continue to boost domestic tourism, which is forecast to grow by 2.9% in 2025, thanks to rising revenue and interest in travel within Africa. To support this growth, tariffs on capital equipment and vehicles for tour operators have been eliminated, favouring the development of the sector.

The tourism sector is projected to grow by 3.1% in 2026, reaching 1.87 million tourists, thanks to increased promotional efforts and the popularization of leading destinations such as Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park.

In addition to diversify the tourism market, the government will send tourism attachés to new emerging markets such as Brazil, Nigeria, and Russia. This strategy seeks to strengthen Zimbabwe position on the global tourism map and contribute to the increase in tourism flows and revenue of the sector.
