Tunisia, northernmost country in the African continent, part of the Maghreb region of North Africa, bathed by the Mediterranean sea, containing in its territory the eastern end of the Atlas Mountains and the northern reaching of the Sahara desert, well known for its ancient architecture, archaeological sites dating back to the 9th century BC as the iconic Carthage, vibrant cities and towns with bustling souks and beautiful long beaches after a year of exceptional results, highlighted its position as a booming destination excelling as a benchmark in responsabile tourism affirming its success during the last edition of FITUR, important tourism trade fair which took place in Madrid, Spain.
The North African country at FITUR was represented by the Minister of Tourism and Crafts Soufiene Tekaya and the Director General of ONTT, the Tunisian National Tourism Office, Helmi Hassine who reaffirmed the commitment of Tunisia to sustainable growth and the development of innovative proposals that position the country offer in international markets.
For the Tunisian Minister, the country's participation in this edition of FITUR has made it possible to strengthen ties with international partners and in addition to demonstrate the potential of Tunisia as a diverse, sustainable and quality destination.
The country will continue to bet on innovation and the enhancement of its cultural heritage offered by each region of Tunisia especially the south, to promote more responsible tourism.
Tunisia started years ago to focus on responsible tourism, a way of travelling that aims to minimize the negative effects of tourism on the environment, local communities and the economy with operators, hoteliers, governmental bodies and locals taking responsibility and actions to make tourism more sustainable and achieving brilliant results.
During FITUR, the Tunisian authorities announced its the pan - European campaign that will be launched next March in Europe under the slogan "Live the T moment, Live Tunisia", an initiative, 100% digital, which aims to strengthen Tunisia's notoriety as a premium destination, targeting different markets and especially various traveller profiles through strategies in DOOH, social networks, video platforms and programmatic display.
The focus of 2025 promotion has been on the relaunch of institutional and professional exchanges, in collaboration with tour operators and authorities active in the tourism sector.
Concerning the general public, the attention was especially directed and focused to the various proposals of Southern Tunisia, emergent destination with its captivating oasis and the Sahara desert with a tourism focused on sustainable development and also to captivating culinary routes, showing the varied gastronomic diversity of the country as a strong attraction for the most curious travellers.
With these initiatives and more, Tunisia not only celebrates its successful participation in FITUR 2025, bur also consolidate itself as a benchmark in responsible tourism and excellence, looking to the future in an optimistic way with the aim of attracting a wider audience and maintaining sustained growth in the international tourism industry..
