Mexico | Tourism Sector Supports the Relaunch of the " Hecho en Mexico " Brand


Mexico, a country located in the southern portion of North America, a very demanded and popular destination in Latin America boasting a more than rich cultural and historical heritage, dramatic landscapes all around its territory, stunning beaches on the Pacific and Caribbean coastlines, a great biodiversity, scenic mountains and pristine forest, an excellent cuisine and much more is experiencing that its tourism sector supports the relaunch of the "Hecho en Mexico" , Made in Mexico brand. 

"Hecho en Mexico" or "Made in Mexico" is an official seal and brand that identifies products manufactured in Mexico, managed and promoted by the Mexican Government to highlight the national industry promoting its products both nationally and internationally.

The brand owned by the Mexican Government through the Ministry of Economy seeks to make it easy for consumers to identify Mexican products, encouraging the consumption of national products and highlighting the quality of them, and not only identifies the origin of the products, but also developing projects, campaigns and marketing operations to highlight the excellence of the Mexican industry in global markets, supporting the commitment of national companies to offer quality.

 In an act of collaboration with Plan Mexico, the first comprehensive project from Mexico's Government focused on strenghtening the country's role in global value chains with an ample vision for national development also based on 13 goals to reduce poverty and inequality, head by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the Mexican tourism sector joined the relaunch of the brand "Hecho en Mexico" according to an announcement reported by the Secretary of Tourism and member of the Honorary Council Promoter of this initiative, Josefina Rodriguez Zamora. 

The Secretary of Tourism said that the objective of this administration is to consolidate the tourism brand "Mexico" as a global benchmark and pointed out that the relaunch of the "Hecho en Mexico" bramd is a fundamental part of this process, an initiative is aligned with President Sheinbaum Pardo's vision of exalting national products, promoting a sense of belonging among Mexicans.

Each item made in Mexico helps to strengthening the identity of the country. offering opportunity to publicize the variety and quality of the national products, especially in gastronomy and handicrafts.

 In the same context the Secretary of Tourism reported that as, part of its participation in this effort, Sectur, the Ministry of Tourism has appointed six spokepersons from the tourism sector to be part of the Honorary Promotion Council.

These selected spokepersons are important leaders of the Mexican tourism industry such as the President of the Board of the Grupo Autofin Juan Antonio Hernández, the Founder of Grupo Vidanta, Daniel Chávez Morán, the CEO of Grupo Brisas Antonio Pando Cosio, the President of Grupo Palace Resorts, José Zahoul, the President of AMOMéXICO, Alonso Vera, and the CEO and founder of Rutopia,  Emiliano Iturriaga and all them with their prestige and high reputation can boost and enhance the brand internationally. 

In addition, the Secretary invited all members of the tourism sector to join this effort to give visibility to Mexican products, highlighting that all sectors work together to make known the world what Mexico has to offer and not only focus on the 45 million tourists the country receives annually, but expanding the visibility of the country globally.

The relaunch of the brand "Hecho en Mexico" undoubtedly reinforces Mexico's commitment to promoting its cultural and artisanal wealth, contributing to the local economy and positioning the country as a world - class tourist and productive destination.
